It's winter. A stranger to humanity has landed on earth.

NASA analysis indicates a metal object the size of a small meteor falling in northern Finland's Kaldoaivi Wilderness. First on scene is Jari, an unassuming hiker. Jari was shocked of what he found, but was debriefed and silenced by the government before he could contact anyone. No one heard of Jari again.

Strike force found crash site, but no sign of detected object.
Pentagon is working with finnish officials in hopes of recovering some scientific technology from the clearly alien stranger. Only problem is, they need to find it first...

Scientists are picking up readings of trace amounts of radioactive emissions. These seem to be accompanied by brief blips of a metal object on military's radars. It's as if something is popping in and out of existence nearby.

What the humans haven't figured out, is the stranger is MECHA 4-T, a dimension-shifting biomechanic life form. S/he is here to survey the planet and it's inhabitants, but the hostile humans have forced MECHA 4-T to go hiding in neighboring dimensions, only peeking in briefly to check whether things have calmed down already. The mission is not to exterminate, but learn.

S/he decides it's best to continue surveying the planet from the seas, underwater. S/he has advanced enough sensors that work from great depths, and s/he will easily go undetected by humans' low-tech radars there.

It's time to run silent, run deep...
